Sport Accord

Everything you ever wanted to know about winning International Sporting Events for your destination!

You are probably aware that the FIFA World Cup took place in South Africa last summer? You may have watched the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver in February? Perhaps you even followed some of the challenges faced by Delhi recently as it hosted the Commonwealth Games or are watching the preparations for London to host the 2012 Summer Olympics?

You might not realise, however, that 57 countries were represented at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky earlier this year or that over half a million people attended the International Ice Hockey World Championships in Germany. Over 100 different sports hold large and small events in different cities all over the world annually. This amounts to well over 1,000 events every year all needing a host city! There are of course different bidding processes, different funding arrangements and different organisational structures for all of these sports and their events. This is the world of sport at international level. In order to be part of this huge revenue generating opportunity for your destination, this seminar provides you with an introduction to the International Sport Movement and how you can win business.
